Avatar Movie Review

I just saw Avatar. It’s 1:06 and I am so excited. Because I just saw it. And it was the best movie since Lord of the Rings. It was epic. Incredible.

I just don’t know what to say. The plot was similar to Disney’s Pocahontas– the new people come into a new world where the natives seem like savages…. but they’re not. And then the battle ensues.

The main difference between these two plots is that Avatar had giant blue people, which added a level of awesomeness that Pocahontas just doesn’t have.

There was so much research and effort put into this movie to make it seem real, and it did (seem real that is). It was expertly done, every aspect of it. There is nothing I didn’t like about it.

I guess what I am trying to say is that they brought in people–scientist, linguists, creative thinkers– and had them create world, an actual world, with native people and plants and animals, and a language for the people to speak. Pandora (the new planet) is a place you wish you could go to by the end of the film. It is like nothing I’ve ever seen before. Everyone has been talking about how it is only good for the animation, but there is so much more to it. It truly is a visual feast, but the voices of the actors, the language of the Na’vi, the cries of wild animals, the floating mountains, the sobs of people, that was all part of it too. There was brilliant acting, there was a very new twist to the plot, the animation was beautiful, and the whole concept was new and different.

Without a doubt it is the best movie (live action)  I’ve seen in a very long time.

If my ramblings aren’t making any sense, read up here

Guys, it’s worth every penny :)
